All Healing Comes From God!

“And by the river upon the bank thereof... shall grow all trees for meat, whose leaf shall not fade…and the
fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for medicine.”

The Basics About Essential Oils- Hot Warm, & Cold Compresses

When your body sustains an injury one of the best things to do is to alternate hot and cold compresses. Alternating between hot and cold compresses bring an increased blood flow of nutrients to the area and then pushes out the inflamation from the injury.

Hot packs- Hot packs push the essential oils deeper into the area of injury. First rub 1-3 drops of essential oil into the area. Then cover with a hot or damp towel, followed by a dry towel. Hold the towel onto the location for 10-60 minutes. It is normal for a warm or burning sensation as the oil goes deeper into the area. If the burning is too much apply more carrier oil and reapply the towels. A sheet of plastic can be used to cover the area first if needed.

Cold Packs- Great for use for people with neuological issues, for swelling or infamation. Begin by rubbing 1-3 drops of essential oils onto the area of concern. Cover with a cold, damp towel, then apply ice packs. Apply the cold packs until the swelling subsides.

With the elderly, children or people with sensitve skin use a warm Compress-

Use water that is only slightly above body temperature, or use cool water if you are dealing with nurological issues.

Place 5-15 drops of essential oils into a bowl of warm water. Mix the water and let sit for i minute. Place a dry wash cloth onto the surface of the water to soak up the oils and then apply to area of concern.

At our house we like to use "owie bags" or wraps that you keep in the freezer or can microwave to use it as a warm or hot compress. You can find them here.

Add an oil...
